William Blakeley went to Eastland this morning to attend to business on his extensive farm at that place. The recent rains have been of great ben efit to the crops In that portion of the county and the prospect Is now highly encouraging. ' Ed Kiddle, the well known miller and stock buyer of Grand Ronde val ley, passed through this morning to Portland with a carload of, hogs. He has one hog which weighs 160 pounds and which he hopes to Increase in size to lion, for exhibition at the Lewis and Clark fair. Major Moorhouse went to Irrigon this morning for the purpose of pho tographing the various ditches and Improvements there, for advertising purposes.
