He says there is a general sentiment strongly in favor of the regular train from Walla Walla tO Pendleton, once n wnnlr nnri that the people of Freewater would much rainer trade in Pendleton than In Walla Walla. Most of the trading is done with home merchants, but what outside trading Is done, would prefer ably come to the county seat NlIT FOB. DIVORCE. W ife Alleges Repeated Desertion and Other Provocation, Matilda Hatch has begun action In the state circuit court against Gardi ner Hatch for divorce and the custo dy of her minor son. The Hatches were married In Hardin county, Ohio, December 25, 1883. Eight .years ago the wife alleges her husband abandoned her, but she afterwards forgave hlm and they again lived together for a few months, when the defendant a second time left, taking with him the proceeds of the sale of their household goods, and leaving the wife and child desti tute. The plaintiff also alleges that her husband accused her of unlawful intercourse with other men. She naikes the allegation that Gardner Hatch has a child by another woman. At one time, while the Hatches were en route to Oregon from Wis consin, the wife declares her husband threatened to leave her and her child to starve by the roadside. Beautiful ClirlsUnas Window. The win dow Is decked with holly and in the center is suspended a large Christ mas bell, almost filling the entire window space. Turner, the well known drayman, in unloading a heavy bar rel from his wagon this afternoon, mashed the little finger on his right hand so badly that It had to be am putated near the hand. It is doing nicely this evening. Receipts of Recorder's Office. The county recorder reports busi ness of his office for the past quarter as follows: September, 1276.26; Octo ber, 1298; November, $330. Novem ber's receipts are the heaviest in many months.
