is thought, if no complications arise.

tor.) The great work of providing a
free Xmas dinner for the poor has
become a part of the religion of the
Salvation Army. Every year baskets
by the thousands are filled with a
good substantial dinner such as
turkey or chicken, bread, butter, two
or three kinds of vegetables, nuts,
candies and fruits, the size of the
basket and the quantity will of course
be In accordance with the size of the
family.
The local workers of this army are
preparing to look after every poor or
needy family of Pendleton on Xmas,
and anyone knowing of a family

ful distance. The flames shot up as
