Prominent creamery men from many parts of the state filled the assembly room of the chamber of commerce building this rooming at the opening of the fifth annual meeting of the California Creamery Operators' Association. The- call to order at 10 o'clock was followed by an address of welcome by Mayor L. O. Stephens, to which reply on behalf of the association was made by H. P. Glasier of Oakland. At the conclusion of these formali ties the convention listened to the presidential address of George G. Knox of Sacramento and the annual report of the secretary-treasurer, William H. Baylor of San Francisco. C. E. Hill of San Francisco, in an ln terestins: DaDer. explained how the usefulness of the association might De extended to the creamery and dairy Interests of the state. Committee ap pointments and other business of a routine nature occupied the remain der of the forenoon session. This afternoon the convention lis tened to addresses as follows: "Pro posed Legislation to Regulate the Weight of Print Butter, Water in Butter and Coloring," Jesse Durham of Sulem; "The Importunce of the Dairy Interests to the Development of the State." Arthur Brlggs, San1 Fran cisco; "Proposed Legislation Relative to Agricultural Education," Peter J. Shields, Sacramento; "External Edu cational Influence Among Dairy Men," Dr. Leroy Anderson, director of the California Polytechnic school. The convention will continue and conclude Its sessions tomorrow.
