George W. Mc Connell of Freewater. and Miss Ada ShumwHy, were married at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Walla Walla, by Rev. Henry Brown, pastor of the M. E. church. Mr. and Mrs. McConnell will live In Freewater. Miss Bessie Wright has gone to Bell-Ingham, Wash., for a visit with her sister, Mrs. F. M. Galley. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Bean returned this morning from their wedding tour through the East. Mr. Bean will re sume his duties at the O. R. &N. depot in a few days. Mrs. E. P. Greene, formerly of Milton, but now of Walla Walla, is visiting Mrs. Elizabeth Hopson. Presbyterian revival meetings are now In progress. Mr. Powers, a tenor soloist from the East, furnishes the music. Rev. Needham. a noted evan gelist. Is expected here tomorrow to assist Rev. B. F. Harper. Mrs. Ella Hanna of Meacham, who has been here visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Nell, will leave this afternoon for home. Mrs. C. P. Collins visited yesterday at Walla Walla. Mrs. Louisa J. Pierce of Walla Walla. Is visiting here. Death Caused hy Cancer. Mrs. S. Mortensen died at her home here Saturday night of cancer. Fun eral services were held yesterday at the Adventtst church, and the body was interred In the I. O. o. F. ceme tery. Mrs. Mortensen had been trou bled with a cancer for nearly two years, and about a year ago under' went an operation.
