Wis., Business Woman s Association, is
another one of the million women who
have been restored to health by using
Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound.
' "Dui Mm. Pikkhau : I was married for several yean and no children
UMied my home. The doctor said I had a oomplloatlon of female troubles
mi I oould not hare any children unless I could be cured. Be tried to cur
at, but after experimenting for several months, my husband became dis
rated, and one night when we noticed a testimonial of a woman who had
ben tend of similar trouble through the use of Lydia 13. Pinkkam's
Vegetable Compound, he went out and bought a bottle for me. I used
jour medicine for three and one half months, improving steadily in health,
aid to twenty-two months a child came. I cannot fully express the joy and
tbukfolness that is in my heart. Our home is a different place now, as we
M something to live for, and all the credit is due to Lydta E. Ptnklium'8
Testable Compound. Yours very Bincerely, Mbs. L. C, Glover, 614 Qrovo

Vegetable Compound cure others who suffer from womb troubles,
tarnation of the ovaries, kidney troubles, nervous excitability,
and nervous prostration ; remember that it is Lydia E. Pink
kam's Vegetable Compound that is curing women, and don't allow
any druggist to sell you anything else in its place.
An Indiana Lady Tolls of a 'Wonderful Cure :
"Dkab Mbs. Pinkham: It is a pleasure
for me to write and tell what your wonderful
medicine has done for me. I was Biek for
three years with change of life, and my
physician thought a cancerous condition of
the womb. During these three years I
suffered untold agony.
"I cannot find words In which to ex
press my bad feelings. 1 did not expect to
ever see another well day. I read some of the
testimonials recomending your medicine and
decided to write to you and give your treat

Diverting Trade to Ilcppner.
The contract for building a bridge
across the John Day at Spray will
be let the first of November. The
building of this bridge will bring con
siderable trade to Heppner from the
Interior that has heretofore gone to
Prlneville and Shanlko, because of not
being able to get across the John
Day the greater portion of the year.
A very large quantity of wool that
has gone to Shanlko In former years,
from beyond the John Day river, wlli
go to Heppner when this bridge Is
built, and thus bring to our town a
large volume of business that has In
the past gone elsewhere, simply because-it
was forced the other way by
Inability to cross the river.
Heppner business men have con
tributed liberally toward the con
struction of the bridge. Prlneville
Ucvlew.
To Divert the John Day.
A field party sent out by the re
clamation service recently Investigat
ed the possibility of diverting all the
waters of the John Day river to the
Umatilla lands and reports that any
project to divert the water from the
north fork of the John Day below Its
confluence with Bull Run Is Impracti
cable, as It would Involve the con
struction of a canal approximately
120 miles long at a cost roughly esti
mated at $1,600,000. This party will
investigate diversion possibilities at
the confluence of the north and south
forks of the river below the town of
Monument. Diversion at this point
would Justify a heavy expense, as the
minimum discharge Is large, and It Is
believed a large area could be Irri
gated at a reasonable cost. The
Dalles Chronicle.
Cattle Men Satisfied.
The Izee cattle men who recently
drove about 1500 head of cattle from
that section to the market at Pendle
ton, repot- a most successful drive.
There were no losses on the road, and
the animals weighed unusually well.
The drive was made In sections, aver
aging nbout 300 head to the bund.
The effect of removing such a large
number of cattle from the range will
oe to relieve the congestion and give
the grass a chance to grow that It
needs badly at this season of the year.
And to this end. the weather is un
surpassable. Plenty of rain has been
followed by a very brief spell of cold
weather and then by a succession of
very warm days. This has set the
grass growing In great style and If It
continues means a great saving for
the winter season. Baker City Herald.
Engineer Disappears.
Ed Larson, an engineer working at
the sawmill of Charles Derhnm on
Trout Creek, disappeared about 10
days ago and his whereabouts are at
present unknown. Mr. Derham was
In Prlneville last week In search of
his engineer, but failed to locate him
either in the city or on the road
hither. Larson Is a Swede, about 35
years old, and of good character. He
left the sawmill having nearly $100
coming to him. Prlneville Review.
Baker County Bridges.
J. J. Biswell, assisted by Q. R. Hod
gins, Price Davis and Fred Hlnshaw.
has Just completed, five new county
bridges on Burnt river between Dur
kee and Huntington, at a cost that
will not exceed $33,000. The bridges
are all plied and the spans average
from 90 to 100 feet. Baker City

Pleaded Guilty.
Oscar Baldwin and Melvln Hue-hea
who were arraigned before Judge
Bradshaw Monday on a charge of
horse stealing, each pleaded guilty
and will be sentenced today. About
one and a half years each Is what
they will get. Prlneville Review.

GOOD WORK.
Done Dally lu Pendleton Many Citi
zens Tell of It.
Nearly every reader has heard of
Doan's Kidney Pills. Their good
work In Pendleton still continues, and
our citizens are constantly adding In
dorsements by public testimony. No
better proof of merit can be had
than the experience of friends and
neighbors. Read this case:
Charles W. Beale, expressman, liv
ing at J00 West Tustln street, corner
of Aura street, and well known to
every resident of Pendleton, says:
"For four years past, I have been
troubled with kidney disorders, caus
ed, I think, by heavy lifting required
by my occupation. The pain was
such that I waa unable to stoop or
rise again without pain and effort.
The kidney secretions were irregu
lar especially at night and caused me
much annoyance. When I first heard
of Doan's Kidney Pills, I decided to
try them and got a box at Brock &
McComaa drug store. They have re
lieved me to a very great extent, both
as to the backache and the urinary
trouble, and I have the greatest con
fidence In them."
