A fifth car of the bark by the Alsea
peelers can be completed. It will

last week, nearly cleans up the peeled
bark stock of the Alsea valley, which

kle pool brought $6.30 per 100 pounds.

Child Shot Through With "IS."
Maudle Furrlsh, aged 4 1-2 years,
who was nccldently shot through the
body Saturday evening, Is seemingly
on the rapid road to recovery despite
the serious character of the wound
received. The child was carrying a
loaded 4ti-cullber revolver when the
weapon was discharged, the ball en
tering the right side and coming out
under the arm of the left side. It was
necessary for Drs. Fursey, Fulton and
Woodruff, who had been summoned,
to perform an operation. They
found one lung had been penetrated
nnd two ribs broken by the bullet.
This afternoon the little girl was able
to sit up In bod and Is now resting
