Word was brought to town Monday that unknown parties had fired into a hand of sheep belonging to Thomas Fitzgerald, which wore camped on the slide on the head of West Branch. The shooting was done by five men Inst Friday night about 11, p. in., while the sheep were leaving the bed ding ground. Over 100 shots were fired at the sheep and eighty shells were picked up. Thirty-eight sheep were killed outright and 12 have died since, making a loss of 50 head. Two bullets passed through the herder's tent when he vamoosed without fur ther ceremony. Mitchell News.
