JCIIgore of that Institution, came to Pendleton vesterdav afternoon. Mr. Pierce is on his way to Cullfornln. He Is a brother of State Senator Walter M. Pierce of this city. H. C Mnnela, who Is now owner of u hay ranch near Walla Walla, wns in town yesterday, returning home this morning. Mr. Manela lived at Echo several years, und was long a manager for the Pacific Coast Eleva tor Company, at different points In this county, and at Walla Wallu. X. B. Fisher hus concluded he will not locate at Hood River, and has re-; turned for u short time, and later will I go Into the Coeur d'Alene country. It Is probable that wherever he con cludes to locate' his brother-ln-luw, Willis Honek, who last spring re moved here from Poeatello, will fol low with his family. Mr. Fisher Is from Persia, Iowa.
