Quick Fortunes
in the North
Terry Brennan. one of the best
known characters In Alaska, and one
of the first of the frontiersmen of
the West to go to the Klondike, Is
visiting in Denver while on his way
back from his old home in New York
state, which he had not seen since
he was a boy, it! years ago. says the
Denver Post.
Seven year ago. at the beginning
of the great gold excitement and con
sequent rush to the Klondike country.
Breanan was living in Butte, Mont.,
where he was known as "sport" and
as an early frontiersman. He had a
raputation as a prizefighter and as a
promoter of that sport, while his
brother was known over the world
as the world's champion for 200
yards.
When he heard of the great riches
and of the great excitment to be
found In the new gold camps in the
far North, the desire to keep to the
van of civilisation, which had prompt
?d him to come West when be was

day's program will be the cadet
match between Annapolis and West
Point. The various contestants have
made splendid scores in their prac
tice work and before the tournament
