has gone to engage In the publication
of a new paper to be called the Sea
ward Gatoway. Mr, Kamp Is well fit
ted for such work. Ho has written
several Interesting articles for the
Miner and Manufacturer, and other
Western publications. At Intervals
while In this city lio was engaged on
tho Evening Herald and the morning
paper. Baker City Herald.
Prosperous Kendrlck.
Contracts have been let for four
business blocks In Kendrlck, which
will be rushed to completion as fast
as possible. Tho Kendrlck brick yard
has about 600,000 brick on hand and
is running tho yard to Its full capacity
so that there will be plenty of brick
to rebuild without shipping any In.
It is estimated that it will take sev
eral brick blocks yet to accommodate
tho business Interests so that much
of the work will bo done next spring.
Water on Agency Plains.
Mr. Fr.ed Fisher returned last night
from Agency Plains, Crook county,
where he has been for the past three
weeks. Ho was successful In sinking
n well and striking water at a dis
tance of !I0 feet, which was the first
successful attempt on the Plains.
