The epidemic of hold-ups in Port land has caused several hundred ar rests within the past week, and has also caused Portiund citizens to hurry home after dark. Trunquillo Veronda, a miner was killed at Bourne Wednesday, by fall ing rock in the tunnel. The blast had loosened the rock and when the miner began working with it a large mass fell upon him.
