At a meeting of the stockholders Monday evening the company decid ed to purchase the private garden of A. W. Philips and this stock has boon added to the resources of the com pany. The purchase price of the Phil ips ginseng was something over $:00. Walla Walla Union. Ncz Perce Consolidation. Articles of Incorporation have been signed for the Nez Perce Water &. Power Company at Nez Perce, of ?100,O00, divided Into 100 shares of the par value of $1000 each. The corporation has purchased the Nez Perce electric light plant, the creamery plant, the flour mill and the Lolo power plant and in addition will take over the water works system of this place. The water plant will be Installed Immediately and the owners have secured the springs on the In dian lands, five miles southwest of the town, which will be the source of supply for the plant. The springs could not be purchased outright, but were leased from the Indians for a long term of years with the approval of the department at Washington. Sheepherder Burned. A sheepherder in the employ of M. Farlough, named Steve Ronclsh, was so badly burned on last Thursday night at the camp near Clifford's sta tion that Dr. Brock, who was called to attend him on Friday, says that his chances for recovery are now very slight. He spattered some flam ing grease upon his clothing while getting supper and before it could be put out was burned to a blisted about the arms and shoulders. He neglected to care for the Injuries and on Fri day afternoon was stricken with fe vers, which are likely to cost him his life. Sumpter Reporter. 200 Acres Wheat Burned. A fire started on land belonging to Samuel Thomas, 14 miles northwest of Kahlotus, by the engine used in running his combine, and about 200 acres of his insured grain was destroyed. New York, August 2. J. Marbourg Keedy, recently appointed prosecut ing attorney for the Panama canal zone, sailed for the Isthmus today to enter upon his new duties.
