Wool from Wallowa and nakor counties will be baled here this sea son. It is expected that between 2, 000,000 and 2,500,000 pounds of wool will be baled at Elgin. Most of the Wallowa wool was sold wlillo still on tho sheep's backs. New Wallowa Stage. Elgin Is tho terminus of the rail road from La Grande and It has prov ed such a good stage point that a nev stage company has been form ed railed the Tenderfoot Stage com pany. Yesterday tho old stage company had 20 passengers for Joseph and way points, while the Tenderfoot Stage Company was loaded to Its full capacity also. Passengers aro allowed 50 pounds of baggage and one of tho passengers a drummer, I had soven trunks weighing 1500 ' pounds as excess baggage, charged Uor at the rate of 1 cents per pound.
