Results of Irrigation.
The Milton. Frecwater & Hudson
Bay Irrigation ditch has, and Is work
ing wonders for a part of this conn
try. Some of tho land that did not
ra!t,e anything but sagebrush nnd
rats. Is being cultivated and produc
ing good crops, while other parts
t.iai were pioducing good crops are
too wet and aro almost valueless for
anything except pnsture. But so far
as we are able to learn, no one Is
complaining about It, as It produces
the very best pasture and will bring
from $S to fl.l an aero and save a
deal of hard work.
Alfalfa, Wheat and Rye.
The first crop of alfalfn hay, which
will amount to nearly 3000 tons, is
about all up. Tho hay this year, ow
ing to the cold. Into spring, Is not so
long and brushy as usual, which
makes It much better for tho stock
nnd farmer.
Wheat Is ready to harvest, nnd ere
this week ends the header will bo
cutting down the golden grain.
On the Bosheau ranch, near the
Vincent school house, aro 320 acres of
barley that will make an average of
15 bushels to the acre. Heretoforo 20
to 30 has been a good crop; water did
It.
