Spokane, Juno 10. The commission men say this will be an Ideal season for canning strawberries and that about Juno 25 local berries will bo plentiful and cheap. The season was late this year and frosts did not hnrm the berries, so the gardeners are ex pecting a bumper crop. The Green llluff Association of growers, about in miles northeast of the city, put up K,000 crates of berries on the market last veur and this year estimates Its output between 20,000 and 25.000 crates. A shipment of N'ewtown pippin ap ples came from the Palouse country yesterday. It Is probably the last of the old apples, and the market will go bare until new apples come In. The apples were jobbed at $2 a box. Snake river cherries aie cheaper. The wholesalers quote them from 7C cents to $1 per 10 pound box. Straw berries are being jobbed from $1.7G to $2.25 a crate of 24 quarts. Dlt. M, S. KEKN, DENTAL SUKCEON. Office, room lf. Judd building INSURANCE AND LAND DUSINESS HAKTMAN AIISTHACT CO. Fruitgrowers and shippers say the strawberry crop has nearly all been marketed, says the Lewlstou Tribune. Rains throughout tho season lessened the crop greatly, besides rendering the berries less valuable. Practically all of the Hood River variety have been shipped. Fair sized shipments or the later varieties will be made during the coming week. In cherries, the Vineland and Lew iston crop, which Is only about half as large as last year, Is of fine quali ty. Many of the table varieties are now In market here, inciuuing uiu Hoyal Ann, Black Republican, Black Tartarian and Governor woods. Ho far the demand has all been supplied, but It Is expected that by the middle of next week orders will L received for larger quantities than can be produced.
