It Is hinted that the jus tices are seeking to place upon Mr. Hnsbrouck's shoulders the burden of receiving tho distinguished lady from Butte In n manner, becoming the hos pitality and dignity of the supreme court of Idaho. Moreover, It Is stated at least two of tho justices have spok en of Mr. Hasbrouck as a squire of dames qualified to entertain a peer ess of tho realm If need be. Boise Statesman. Short Line May Extend. It Is highly probable that tho Ore gon Short Line In following out Its policy of developing tributary terri tory, will this year add quite an Im portant extension to Its St. Anthony branch. Chief Engineer William Ash ton has placed In tho field a party under Locating Engineer C. Stradloy, with orders to complete the prelimin ary surveys for this extension. From St. Anthony to Marysvllle It will be about IS miles by this route, but later on the line will work its way gradually Into tho Teton basin. The survey will run northeast from St. Anthony, but will make a turn and run southeast to secure an entrance into the basin. The whole region is destined to be one of the most popu lous agricultural sections of Idaho and Is already well settled, many for mer Utah citizens having made their homes there. Salt Lake Tribune.
