VICTORY" FOR LAFOLLETTE. Arch-Enemy of Monopolies Wins Out In Wisconsin. Madison. Wis.. May 18. Victorious In one of the hardest political fights ever seen In Wisconsin, Governor l.a Follettu is In full control of the re publican state convention here today and his renomlnatloii Is conceded on all sides. So far as It govs tho victory is complete, but lively times aro yet to coniH if, tho governor attempts to dlctato tho selection of delegates at largo to tho national convention. HIh aim is to prevent Senators Spooner nd Quarles from going to Chicago as delegates at large, and were ho ablo to control tho Wisconsin delegation would lose no time In retiring Henry C. Pay no from tho republican national committee. It Is not bellov d. however, that his power will ox. end that far. Tho platform will express common dation of the wlsu, patriotic and pro gresslvo administration of President Hoosevelt, to whom promise will bo mado of renewed allleglanco and sup port. In regard to statu issues tho resolutions will declare for a railroad rato commission, equalization of taxes and Indorsement of tho primary eli tlon law. which will be voted on at the fall election.
