Stock Yet Dying.
Newt Livingston, who wa3 in town
this week from Middle Fork, informs
us that there are still some cattle
dying in that locality, and that in a.i
probability there will bo some loss
during tho next month. Newt says

them. With present prices of hay'
ana cattle no figures that he would
have made money to havo given his
cattle away last fall and sold tho

Buncoing Interior Merchants.
A now bunco game is being work
ed on unwary merchants throughout
tho country. A man enters the store
and displays a government badge
and "credentials" showing himself to
be one of the secret service in search
of counterfeit money. He looks over
the cash drawer and Invariably finds
a few "counterfeit" p.eces which ne
"confiscates." These "secret serv
ice" fellows are counterfeit. Long

Powder River Rampageous.
Powder river was nnk full yester
day. At the Campbell street bridge
the water ran over Into the road and
covered the thoroughfare about six
Inchos deep. The water rose steadi
ly from midnight Saturday until
about noon yesterday, but began to
decline after that hour. All danger
of a flood is now past. The rise
was due to melting snow In the hills.

Representatives of several of the
Mississippi Valley states have sought
to secure carloads of Idaho grain in
the sheaf to place In their displays
at the World's fair. This Is because
the Idaho display of grains eclipses
anything else that lias appeared on
the fair grounds and Is so far in the
lead that it is recognized as a fact
that no other state can hope to ap

The Golf Club is not dead, but has
just suspended animation. The mem.

The memberships of the club all
exilieil on the first of this month, so

Cub will meet and make plans for

The rent on the grounds is due.

on them. A large number of young

will be applied before the middle of
