The game opened quite auspicious ly. All of the boys had nice uni forms and lots ot confidence. It closed about tho sixth Inning with a score of 21 to S in favor of tho car shovers, becauso the semaphore arm of the umpire had given out, waving the danger signal to the bat ters, when the pitcher turned his special loose on the line. During the middle of the game a couple of engines filled their tanks too full and ran wild, causing a sus pension of the exercises, while they weru caught by the fans and side' tracked. Both were from foreign roads, however, and had nothing to do with the regular program. If it were possible to describe the game It would bo done, but tho Eng' lish language Is Incapable of detail lug all of the fine points of the piay. lng. Besides, It might hurt somo of the tender feelings of the players most of whom are using arnica this morning. It was very Interesting to the large audience, however. Methodists Want to Dance. All previous efforts to bring about a modification of that rule were ren dered futile by the opposition of tho orthodox elements. Tho agitation has been continued, howover, and It Is believed, that at the conference to he held hero this month, strong pressure will be brought to bear, to have the absolute prohibition chang ed to a suggestion, enumerating dancing, card-playing and theatergo lng among the forms of amuscmen to be nvoided by the faithful.
