James Clark has bought the Weston meat market and will move his family there. Wm. Simonton and son, Eearl, and Will Jones have driven their herd of cattle to the mountain range. They were wintered on Mr. Jones' place near Milton and were looking fine. The Y. P. S. C. E. entertainment at the opera house last Friday night was a complete success. The house was crowded. The total assets of the evening were $SG.S0. Mrs. Bowlcn, who has. been con fined to her home with an attack of pneumonia, is slowly Improving. Thos. Ogle spent Monday in Pen dleton for medical treatment. Mrs. Wm. King's two daughters, Mrs. John King and Mrs. Chas. Smith, gave their mother a birthday surprise party Wednesday. 'A very enjoyable evening was spent. Mr. Stamper, .near Athena, and several others, have lost 10 or 12 head of cattle from unknown causes. Mark Johns, who formerly resided here, is reported to be dangerously 111 at Walla Walla. During the past week the heavy rains along Wild Horse have caused it to overflow a good portion ot the bottom land. Fred Rosenzwelg is rebuilding that portion of his house which was destroyed by fire. He is making It larger and more convenient. William Russell's little son, near here, is seriously ill with the pneu monia. Mrs. T. P. Mosley is sick at her home near here with a severe attack of Inflammatory rheumatism, Rev. Jenkins Is III. Church services were discontinued Sunday at the Christian church on account of the illness o. the pastor. Rev. W. J. Jenkins. Child Severely Scalded. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Embrlskl's lit tle child, of Adams, was badly scald ed in hot water Tuesday.
