the railroad as soon as the season
opens and there are plenty of logs on
band for present use.
Tho mills will be started in two
weeks, as tho yards are now too wet
with melting snow and rain to handle
the business satisfactorily. Last
year the mills reopened March 17.
The mills have a capacity of lOO.Oul)

Was Sumpter's First Mayor.

nppolnted deputy United States mar
shal in the place of Al Roberts, was
formerly a resident of Sumpter. Up
on diligent Inquiry, however, the
morning paper failed to find any con
firmation of the statement. For its
benefit, also to show the brand ot

newspaper deals, and for the purpose
of Identifying Mr. Blowers, The Min
