The remains of Harry Chancy, who was run over by a water wagon on the Chancy ranch yesterday afternoon, were brought Into the city las', night to the Baker & Folsom un dertaking parlors, where they were embalmed, and will bo taken to Mc Mlnnvlllo In the morning for burial by the side of another brother, who died somo years ago. The accident happened about 1:30 yesterday afternoon. The boy, who was about 11 years of ago, started to the field with his father, Charles Chancy, who was ploughing. Mr. Chaney was driving a six-horse team hitched to a water wagon, and was accompanied by n hired man who was leading a thrce-horso team. On the way to the Hold the boy got off tho wagon and was standing by the side of the road looking at a small washout. Ono of tho horses led by the 'hired man, became tangled In n loose strand of barbed wire,, and tho team started to run. Mr. Chaney, seeing that his horses were about to be tangled In tho wire, started his team on the run down the hill, and his son, while running from the first team, got in front of tho wagon, was struck by the leaders and six horses and the wagon pass ed over him. The barbed wlro hstruck him In the forehead, cutting a deep gash over the eye, anil also breaking his neck. General Repair Shop. Anderson, of Philadelphia, the manager of the Northwestern Gas and Electric Company, of Walla Walla, Is in the city for a business visit. T. W. Bracking, of Pendleton, rep resenting the International Corres pondence School at Scranton, Pa., was In Union Thursday, looking after the Interests of that school. Union Republican. Maxwell Irrigation Company, T. G. Halley and S. A. Lowell, of this city, and J. F. McNaught, of Umatilla, today filed articles of In corporation, establishing tho "Max well Land and Irrigation Company," Tup capital stock is placed at $100, 000, divided into 1,000 shares of 100 each. The principal place of busi ness Is to be at Maxwell. The pur pose of the organization is to carry on a general irrigation justness, furnish light and power and' maintain all apparatus necessary for such transaction. Rev. R, W. King Jo Moscow, Rev. R. W. KfiTg left this morning for Moscow, where he will preach in his now charge tomorrow. Ho will return to this city next week and movo his family to Moscow. Marriage License Issued. It cost $1.87 to carry a ton from Yorkshire coal fields, In England, to London, a dis tance of 1D8 miles, while coal is brought from the Carbondale coal region in Illinois to Chicago, 270 miles, for 75 cents a ton.
