FOB NEW MANAGER
DR. VINCENT MAY BE TEN
DERED IMPORTANT POSITION.
Northwestern Gas & Electric Com
pany Will Possibly Purchase Boise
City Plant and Railway A Gener
al Manager Will Be Selected for
the Entire System of plants, In
cluding Boise, Pendleton and
Walla Walla.
A llolse City paper gives the fol
lowing outlines of the plans ot tho
Northwestern Gas & Electric Com
pany, to which the Pendleton light
plant belongs:
"It is rumored that tho North
western Gas and Electric Com
plants nt Walla Walla, Wash., and at
Pendleton, Or., will purchnso the
Poise City electric railway and light
plant, and consolidate tho three
plants, and Install a monster power
plant on the l.ittlo Walla Walla
Iliver, in Umatilla county, from
which light and power will bo dis
tributed over a large territory. It is
also understood that Dr, F. W. Vin
cent, formerly principal owner of tho
Pendleton plant, and at present n
stockholder In the new company,
and superintendent of the plant at
Pendleton, will be tendered tho posl.
tlon ot general manager of the entire
property of tho Northwestern com
pany, including tho plants at Walla
Walla, Pendleton, llolse and also tho
big power plant on the Walla
Walla."
Dr. Vincent said today when seen
by the East Oregonlan, that the
pluus of the company hud not reach
ed Biich n point yet, and that tho
,iiui i"i in-- must pmiu unit .railway
Is entirely problematical and only In
tho first stages of Investigation at
this time.
Tho Pendleton and Walla Walla
plants will bo furnished with power
nnd light from tho monster plant to
bo built on the Little Walla Walla
river. Papers covering tho water
rights of the company on the Little
Walln Walla will probably bo filed
with the county recorder tomorrow.
As to the apKIntment of himself
as general manager. Dr. Vincent
said that no such offer bad been
made him at this time, but thnt a
manager would be elected by the
company when a time comes for
such n move.

Will Consider License Matters and
Election Boards.
The county court will meet tomor
row morning at !' o'clock in adjourn
ed session for the consideration of
the liquor license asked for by A. Ii.
Stevens, of Umatilla. This license
should have been considered at the
last session, but owing to a mistake
In the notice it has to be readver
tlsed, and this Is the earliest date
upon which the court could take action.
Monday morning the court will
meet to hear any objections which
may be made to any of the judges
or clerks of election who were ap
pointed by the court at Its last ses
sion. It might be that the judges
and clerks for a precinct had been
appointed all from one party. In the
absence of accurate knowledge of
their party affiliations, or persona
may have moved out of tho precinct
unknown to the members of the
court, and therefore the commission
ers meet to revise the list and listen
to any objections that may be offered.
