On 'Sunday morning the Sports man's Association will bold their regular monthly medal shoot, and from tho Indications there will be a larger attendance tuan for some tlmo, for It is so near the time of the tournament that all are begin ning to wake up and to do a little practicing in anticipation of the big event. On Sunday the members will shoot over the now traps that have been ordered lor the tournament, and which havo been pla.-id In position. There will be three (or one set) of the traps, and they are now being placed In position. Carpenters are now at work on tho grounds of the association, putting up a couple of new houses for the convenience of the ahootsrj. From the returns coming In from the Invi tations that have oeen sent out. it IB evident that there will be a larger J number of sportsmen in the city nt that tlmo than has eve. before gath ered In Pendleton at ono time. Hep ncr had heard of the affair even Mo tion, and will send n good sized squad to make the try for mo purses nnd tho honors of tho tournament. The town has nover before sent a repre rentntlon to the shoot in this city. and the association Is feeling good over the fact that they will bo here. Elgin and Wallowa will send a joint delegation, all tho members of wnlch are good shots, and will make It Interesting for some of the contest ants. Other towns arc also intend ing to come, and it Is an assured thing that the tournament this year will be one of tho best. If not the best, that has ever been held in this section of the country. The medal for the highest average shootiqg of the tournament hns been shipped and will be hero in a Bhort time.
