with a capital of $10,000, has been
Incorporated for the purposo of build
ing a telephone lino between Prino
vllle, Hend and Sisters. It is tho
present intention of the company to
build to Cllno Falls by tho way of
the Forest ranch, thence to Sisters
and from there to Bend. Later it IS
expected to extend tho lino from For
est's placo luto the Haystack coun
try. Tho proposed lino will be about
CO miles in length and will meet de
cided approval by tho different com
munities through which it passes.

Hon. Fred J. Kloscl of Ogden,
Utah, Is In the tUy with Architect
Benultt nf Bolso, who Is drafting tbe
plans for a largo brick block that Mr.
Mescl will build at tho corner of
Main street and Nevada avenue, and
which will be occupied by tho Oregon
Forwarding company, who are com
pelled to move into a larger and more
commodious building to accommo
date their very fast increasing trade.
All tho necessary arrangements have
been completed and the work will
commenco on tho now building ns
soon as tho architect submits a plan
that meets with the approval of Mr.
Klescl. -Ontario Democrat.

Tho American Hnro Packing and
Cold Storage company has recolved
tho bills for boxes, laquer and paste,
and tho fine lithographed labels aro
expected today from Portland. On
Wednesday tho cannery put up $200
worth of Its product, nnd there is now
on hand $2.0wi worth of stock which
will bo shipped as soon ns labeled
and cased. The company expects
soon to sink Its well JS'feet deeper
and put up two largo tanks llko tho
one here nelonglng to tho railroad,
so that at all times they will havo
an abundant supply of water for nil

yesterday excavating for a new six
Inch main to extend from First street
to Iloyer avenue and another forco
to replace tho two-Inch fibre pipe in
Boyer avenuo with a four-Inch cast
main. The East Main street pipe
will rcplaco a two-inch pipe that has
done service- for several years and
becomo totally lnaucquato to supply
that section of tne business district.
Following closely on theso exten
sions will como the building of the
company's now plant on tho Walla
Walla river and a subsequent honor
ing of the lighting system of the city.
The exact location of the new plant
is cxpectod to be selected within a
very few days as all tho estimates
mado by the party of engineers and
surveyors who spent several months
on the stream last summer and fall
