posslblo on the Wallowa county brand
book. It cannot be completed as soon
ns was calculated for the reason that
the number of brands secured Is
twice as great as was calculated In
the beginning. It was figured at first
that there were about 3i)ti In use in
tho county, but when they were" col
lected it was found that the number
almost reached COO, which of course
necessitates twiceas mucliwork when
It comes to printing. Tho book, how
over, will be twice as valuable to
the subscribers when they receive It.

Two carloads of electric supplies,

Itexburg, Monday, and early Tuesday
morning a force of men were at work
unloading the cars, while another
force was hanging the arc lights along

machinery will bo Installed and ev

Hot Shot from Mars.
Wednesday night Robert Wilson of
Fossil, saw a meteor fall on Mule
Shoe butte, 22 miles southeast of Fos
sil, lie secured It next morning and
placed It on exhibition at the Fossil
public school. It appeared to bo
round and about the size of a man's
fist when falling. It was flattened by
the fall, and the present sizo Is 12x24
Inches and 4 Inches thick. Dalles

Mr. Walsh Is fixed at $70 per month
as manager of the cannery until the
stockholders havo received a 10 per
cent dividend upon the investment,
after which Mr. Walsh's wages aro
to bo advanced to $150 per month.
