The acrcago of potatoes raised this year In the vicinity of Pendleton will he sufficient to supply tho city for the winter. Heretofore It has been neces sary to ship In many tons from Walla Walla and North Yakima, but this will be obviated this winter. Inquiries from dealers In North Yakima have already been received, but Pendleton merchants have invariably replied that there Is nothing doing. The quality of tho home-grown article Is excellent this year, as little rain fell during the period of maturity, which left the potatoes dry and mealy, and better by far than any Imported ar ticle ever handled here.
