Lizzie Sutton escaped from St, Vin
cent's hospital, at Portland, Wednes
day morning. She was held as a wit
ness against J. B. Wilson, who is un
dor arrest for beating her. Sho was
tuought to be fatally injured, at first,
but was on the road to recovery. It is
thought that Wilson'o friends effected
a compromise and hired hor to disappear.
