most every portion ot tho county and
Eastern Oregon, there has not been
any appreciable ralso In the price In
Pendleton, Bran and mill feed are
selling at the same price quoted a
month ago, and tho scarcity Is not
being felt In any districts In Umatilla
county. Eggs are quoted at 30 and
35 cents today following tho Thanks
giving rush. More country eggs are
coming to town and the grocers pre
dict a gradual reduction in the price,
until just a short time before Christ
mas, when tho increased demand will
likely cause a ralso ot a few cents.

Louisville, Ky Nov, 30. A suit
that may develop Into a second Hill
mon insuranco case came up for trial
today before Judge Gordon. Tho suit
Is that of the Fidelity Trust company.
as executor of Hobert C. Whayno,
against tho ProWuent l.Ifo Insurance
society of New York, to enforco the
collection of a policy for $70,000 held
by Mr. Whayiie.
Mr. Whayne was found dead near
his home in Heechmont shortly after
he had started out bunting. The in
surance company contends that he
committed suicide, while his executor
maintains that his death was acci
dental. The deceased canletl an un
usually large Insurance on his life.
Following the present suit will
come the trial of the case brought by
Mr. Whayno's executois against the
Equitable Life Assurance Company to
enforce the collection of a $150,000 1
policy.

commenced on the construction of
the Brazilian pavilion, which is to bo
one of tho larsest and, finest foreign
government buildings at the World's
fair. It will cost $130,000 more than
the costliest of the stato buildings.
Modeled on lines severely chaste
and yet with some of tho Spanish
Keunaissance so typical of South
America, its facade will have Just
enough of the ornamental to express
outwardly a pleasing decorative splr
It, Viewed at a distance, the build
ing will look not unlike a model statu
houso with its central dome rising to
a height of 132 feet. This huge archi
tectural canopy will be set off with
staff figures In statuary. Main en
trances are to be placed In tho north
and south elevations, while tho low
domes at each end will serve to cover
commodious loggias.
