School Opened This Morning In New District No. 37. McKay. Nov. IS. Charles Kidder has built a residence near Fred Hill's. John Payden has the lumber on the ground for a house near tho new schoolhouse. A petition is In circulation for a county road to diverge from the Echo road to a point on the river near the mouth of Birch creek. Joe Snyder has moved to the place which he bought last summer, on the river near the Hill ranch. The Dilatore family have moved onto the Daniels ranch, lately occu pied by Joseph Snyder. Mr. Allen, a new teacher In Mils county, opened school in the iew schoolhouse in district No. 37, this morning. The new school building erecod cn the north side of tho river by school district No. 37, lately reform ed, is very creditable to tho district, and the directors in charge. It Is modern in eery respect and It Is doubtful If there I sa belter or finer appointed building for the purpose In the state. The people on the south side of the river near the mouth of Birch creek, are building a footbridge across the liver at that point. Last Sunday a convention, (polit ical or otherwise) was held ndar this point by politicians from Pendleton. Among the crowd were two ex-city marshals, an ex-justice of the peace, a prominent tobacco and cigar deal er, and others.
