While It Is not booming to tho oxtent that It will be, it Is on tho road. The deal ers have put out their wagons over tho country and are bringing In load after load each week. Tho prices have not changed to any great ex tent, and aro pretty stationary, but tho indications aro that they will be higher In a short time. The general tone of tho market in tho grocery lino all through is strong er than It has been for somo time. The prices for staples have risen in the Eastern quotations, but tho wavo has not as yet reached this part of the country. However, tho chango is felt ln among the dealers, nnd will bo of effect ln a short tlmo unless there is a change. Canned goods, especially corn and tomatoes, aro scarce and hard to get. Tho price on them has not risen, but the scarcity is felt by tho grocers. Hothouse lettuce Is in the market at 5 cents a bunch, and sauer kraut, the Joy of the German's heart, has come into the stalls for a lengthy visit. It can be bought by the quart for 10 cents, or by tho gallon for 40 cents, according to tho capacity and desire of tho purchaser. N Turkeys will bo here this week also, and will range in price from $1 to $2 each, according to size and con dition. Otherwise there Is no chango and the quotations aro the same. Garh , 10c per lb.
