RIGBY-CLOVE IS TURNING OUT HAYING DEVICE. It Is Attached to the Mower and No Rake Is Needed It Is the Joint Production of Harrah, Cox and Hays, Who Came to Pilot Rock From Iowa and Missouri Have Al so Improvement on Wood Saws, pastor of the First Christian church of that city, and Dean Sanderson, of mo liugone scnooi or uivinity. The Itlgby-Clove people have add ed wood saws and mowing machlno attachments to their line of manu fnctures. Both machines arc built along original lines In fact, the lat ter is an entirely new device. It is the joint production of three ..men named Harrah Cox and Hays, who have lived for about a year and a half near Pilot Rock. These men wore from Southern Iowa and North era Missouri, and the patent spoken of wns issued to them since they came West. All three returned to the East yesterday with their fami lies probably not to remain there permanently, although they havo sold their Umatilla county land. They left an order for 130 of tho attachments, which the foundry' will build this winter. Trials of the de- k'o resulted in its being pronounced rn entire success by those who have witnessed Its operations. It collects and deiosits in piles, or "cocks," the hay mt by an ordinary mowing ma chine. It has the great advantage of not being cumbersome, heavy or com plicated. It is understood that most of the 150 attachments being made are to fill ordors from farmers who know its advantages. Tlie wood saws carry no patent, but Mr. Clove says they are materially different from any in use anywhere n the Northwest. SHIPS 500 CATTLE.
