Good-bye Party.
Last night a farewell party was
given Rev, D. C. Sanderson aim wife
at the M. E. church. Short speeches
were given by Rev. G. H. Gibbs. Rev.
Charles MrCntighcy. Rev. R. h. Cart
wright and Professor W. C. Howard.
The church was beautifully decorated
for the occasion. The church pre
sented Rev. Sanderson and wife with
a handsome rug. It Is with a great
feeling of regret that they are not
to remain here another year They
leave in the morning for their new
field of labor at Pomeroy. Wash.

Death of an Infant From Cholera In

Rriggson. Sept. 10. Cattlemen
have liegun to take their cattle to the
valley for wintering. A good many
of them are In jioor condition owing
to the extremely dry season.
Mrs. Mnttle Fanning, of Cold
Springs, who has been paying a, visit
to her parents. Mr. and Mrs. E, Abra
hamson. returned home today.
Morris the infant son of Mr. and I
Mrs. Walter Gllmore. died at their
homo on Wild Horse last Sunday,
after a short Illness of cholera in
fantum. Morris was a bright and
lovable child and the friends of the
grief-stricken parents extend to them
their heartfelt sympathies In this,
the hour of their sad bereavement.
Swan Peterson, from Kaslo, H. C,
Is here on a short visit to hiB fami
ly. Ho also visited his brother In
Pendleton one day last week.
The heavy showers of the past
week have stopped threshing, which
was well under headway here. The
indications today are of more pleas
ant weather, which is anxiously look
ed for by those who yet have grain
in tho shocks.
James Navin 'went to Adams Mon
day, where he is employed at digging
a well for J. O. Hale.
Sam Rose, who has been confined
to his home for the past two months
with typhoid. Is doing nicely, though
he Is not yet able to leave the house.
