The Method Adopted by the Monks
of Olden Times.
The wise old monks, when any
house was suffering from the pest of
vermin used to go and say "Patera"
and an "Ave" and charge according
lybut they wore extremely careful
to spread a little rat poison around
on the sly Just to keep up their repu
tation. You may use auy quantity of ho

to be rid of dandruff and falling hair,
a little Newbro's Herplcido will bo

hair and causing it to drop out.

Dominion Lines Are In the Field as
Grain Carriers.
Philadelphia. Pa., Sept. 5. Promi
nent grain brokers from representa
tive houses of Baltlmoro nnd Phila
delphia met In conference hero this
week and discussed plans to save the
largo exporting firms fro nitfco disas
ter they say is threatening by tho di
verting of the Western grain trado
from these ports to Montreal nn-J
other Canadian cities.
It is said that tho ocean steamship
lines which have n terminal hero aro
affected by this loss ot trado. Tho
cause assigned for tho loss of tho
grain business is that tho rnto on tho
Canadian railroads is much lower
than can bo secured on any seaboard
line which runs into Philadelphia or
Baltlmoro. A second conference will
bo held in the near future to further
discuss the matter and decide upon
some plan of action.
