Aug. 27. Wheat Millers are the only buyers at present; ex porters have dropped out cf the market and are waiting until tho mil lers have secured all the wheat needed, as they claim that pricos are loo high to buy or simulate on. Prices will ultimately take a drop, a great many In the trade claim, as tho export value today is only about 71c for club. Wheat has been bought on the basis of 7S to SOc at tide water. Blue stem Is being bought from S3c to S5c and valley SOc per bushel. At those prices farmers should feel that they are doing pret ty well, hut the majority of the growers wunt 75c for club at home; this means from S5c to 87c per bush el. This price may be paid, but It Is rather doubtful. Flour Market is firm and the de mand Is beginning to subside. It. ooks as it the buyers In tho Orient1 have tnken time by the forelock and 1 secured plenty of flour to last them the balance of the year. There Is no demand from any other section of, the world. California shipments, from Portland are fair, but Puget Sound Is shipping down quite exten- ti-j kooii iois or nam. Quotations locally are from $4 to $4 3n per bar rel. Mlllstuffs The demand continues fair demand, r.illfnmin i.nin good buyer for all our surplus, and ; .mi ii kivhi many country mills can not fill orders, are calling on job bers here to help thorn out. Quota tions for hran Is $22.50 per ton: shorts $23 and middlings. J2C.50 per ton. Millers do not look for anv chnngp of pricos. and many think that the price will go up before a drop Is recorded Barley This market Is very strong, according to sellers' Ideas, but buyers cannot see It. prices are too high to transact any business, and whenever sellers come down In their views, trading will heconie ac tive. Buyers are in the market for reed at $20 per ton. and brewers are willing to trado at the basis of $21. Tho feeling locally Is better, but not enough to cause a rise of $3 per ton to meet tho Ideas of growers, as prices that have been paid are way out of range for the transaction of business. San Francisco Markets. San Francisco. Aug. 27. Market Tor wheat Is very firm and without change, shippers are buying very sparingly, as prlres are too high; mlllors purchase freely at list prices: farmers are not free sellers. If Is very doubtful whether very much wheat will he exported this season, the crop is hardly largo enough to meet the milling demand. Shipping grades command $1.45 to $1.4"H: milling. $1.52 to $1.00 per rental. Barley A fair demand exists for feed qualities and $1.10 to $1.14V has beon paid. It Is dltllcult to se cure choice lots of feed.
