The Wheat Trade. Portland, July 16. Tho wheat mar ket remains very Inactlvo and there Is nothing doing in tho way ot export. Several vessels aro in port loading wheat and flour for foreign account, and some good size parcels have gone to California, since tho beginning or this month. On rugct Sound thero Is a decided dullness manifested, as there nro no vessels on spot for load ing grain. Tho wheat trade will have quite a spell of dullness. Crop re ports show but llttlo change over out previous advices, and it is hardly ad visable at the present time to mnke a forecast at what the size of tho crop will be. From the most conservative people In the trade in the interior, we nnvo auvices estimating a decrease ot fully 20 to 25 per cent of that ot one year ago. Club, 77e, blue Ktem, !uc ami valley 7Sc per bushel. Flour This market shows but little change from that of 11 week ago, of fers are received daily by cable, from different sections but prices quoted are not satisfactory to most millers, and the same Is rejected. Tho de mand from Japan has not as yet fal len off, and several good sized cargoes will be dispatched to that country this month, the ftoamcr from Port land carrying over 46.U(w barrels last Friday. From China tho demand Is slow, as stocks are not decreasing very fust, but tho outlook is very fa vorablo for sonic heavy shipments in September. California Is receiving its usual weekly shipments, and as new wheat is being marketed there the demand from there will not be very large from now on. The mills will have only enough wheat to carry them through the next season and If any extra demand was to take place It is doubtful whether the orders could be filled. Quotation:! nro with out change and range from $3.85 to $4.35 per bairl. Millsfurfs Notwithstanding the scarcity or offal of all kinds, prices have not advanced and retnnln as Tor merly quoted- bran and shorts $22.50 per ton; middlii-.gs $26.50. Barley Market very dull and noth ing doing, as new barley has not yet been harvested. Prices tor old re mains at $20 per ton tor feed. San Francisco Markets. San Francisco. July 16. .Markets here are very dull and trading In spot wheat Is small. Crop reports hnve been very discouraging during tho week with high winds over tho cen tral pail of the state and heavy losses by fires has caused another large reduction In the probable smnll crop of the stale: damage reports were also received from the banner wheat dlhtiict. viz., San Joaquin, caused by winds. Quotations for now wheat shipping qualities range from $1.35 to $1.37Vi! per cental; milling, $1.42 lo $1.45. Barley This market is quite active and the crops are turning out magni ficently. Good feed qualities sold us high us $1.03 per cental; quotations range from $1.ti2' lo $1.05; for ship ping qualities $1.12 to $1.15 per cental, and are firm at these prices. Wool Markets.
