ing considerably less than the grow
ers had an opportunity of soiling for
at the beginning of the season. Prices
offered ranged from 12 to 13 cents
and as this was not deemed sufficient
by the growers no sales were made
Considerable dissatisfaction ap-i
pears to exist among the smaller J
growers over the outcome of the pool-1
lng business, which was engineered
by some of the larger llockmasters
and It now appears as If tho combi
nation will go to pieces and tho indi
vidual growers sell independently.
That the proposition will losult to
the detriment of the sheepmen Is an
evident fact, as the handling of the
wool by the warehouse men will nec
essarily be considerably more, and
this taken with tho freight and in
surance charges will eat quite a hole
in the profits of this season.
After the sale meeting adjourned a
number of Independent growers dis
posed of their clips, 13 cents being
the top price. This action will have
a tendency to relieve mo congesieu
concerts, at which famous soloists
will be frequently heard.
