The Wheat Trade. ! Portland. July 9. Very little doing In tho local wheat markets. Stocks of unsold wheat are very small and those holders that have nny for sale arc not In the market. Crop advices from Oregon are that the state will harvest about SO per cent of that of last year, and from Washington they will not havo over 70 per cent. Thero Is an Increased acreage throughout the Northwest, but not sufficient to make n great difference In the total yield, especially as much of this land will not produce a big crop the first year. The quality of tho wheat, pro viding conditions prove favorable, from now on harvest should bo vorv good. .The grain section along the Idaho line has received a great ileal more rain than other wheat districts on the east slope of the Cascades. Quotations remain nominal with rlnh at 7Ce, bluestem 7Sc and 79c and val ley "Sc per bushel. Flour There Is nothing now In this market. The demand for Japan continues good and China Is without change, as stocks are being worked off slowly there. a vessel Is hero at Portland loading flour to South Africa, and some shipments are go ing down by steamer to California. This, with the usual Oriental shin- ments, makes up the total of outward business at present. Quotations range from S3.S5 to $4.35 per barrel. Mlllstuffs Xo change as to tho de mand or supplies can be noted. Quo tations ruie tirm at $22.50 per ton for bran or shorts, middlings at $2t'..6n per ton. Barley Stocks being very small, there Is nothing doing. The pros pects for n large crop are very good. In the meantime what small parcels remain on hand are being used by the local chop mills nnd prices are stationary at $20 per ton for feed. San Francisco Markets. San Francisco. July a. Wheat mar ket has been lather quiet, as the ex changes all took a long holiday and there is nothing doing In tho local cash market at present. Great inter est Is manifested, irom the reports of tho various sections of tho stale. In regard to the out turn of the har vest. In some sections tho returns show better than anticipated nt first and in others great disappointment Is manifested. The outlook Is not very favorable for a crop as good as the previous one, and conservative peo ple in the trade look for n decrease of 15 per cent. Quotations for new crop wheat range $1.30 to $1.32Vi lor cental, and milling $1.37s to $1 411 per cental.
