There has something happened In
the hide market at last, but you would
have had to ho close to the place to
have heard the change. Coyote skins
have taken a drop and so have those
of the badger. Any one who wants
those kinds of pelts can got them
cheap. If they can find them. The
fact of the matter Is that the hide

there will bo no more doing In that

the sale of a beef hldo or two.
The local grocery market Is about

The Wheat Trade.
Portland. June 25. Nothing new
has transpired In the local wheat
markets during tho week. A groat
many sales have been made to mill
ers by holders and stocks unsold
have boon further cut Into. There Is
not a great amount of wheat left In
the country unsold, as most of tho
wheat now held Is the property of the
exporter and miller. Crop roorts
from every section of the Northwest
Indicate that the crop of this year
will hardly come up to that of the
year past. In this state, outside of
Umatilla and Sherman counties, the
outlook Is not very encouraging. The
two counties named will have a good
crop If not damaged by hot winds be
fore harvesting. Kail gram Is head
ing, and In many places the heads
seem to be of good size. In the Wil
lamette valley grain Is making a
good growth, and the plant Is very
promising. In Washington. Adams
county will likely have a very poor
crop as this section of the statu was
not benefited by recent rains. The
same can be said of n section of
Walla Walla county, aud unless there
is some rain the next fow days the
crops will be a failure. In Whitman
county the outlook Is very encour
aging for a good crop. Spokane,
Douglass, Garfield, nil seem to bnvo
fair outlooks from reports received
from our correspondents. The west
ern portion of Idaho Is In good con
dition. We have no change of prices
to report, as buyers are buying on tho
basis of 75c for club and 77o for blue
stem. Valley wheat Is in demand
mostly from mills In California nnd
prices are firm at 70c per bushel.
Flour The Hour market shows but
little change over the past week, as
all of the lending mills ate hind at
work on orders that will have to bo
filled In the next fortnight to go to
Japan. Very little Hour Is going to
China at ptcsent ns buyers there are
working off old supplies on baud.
No demand Is heard of from South
Alrlcn or the U. K. Some good ship
ments have gone to California. Quo
tations are without change und range
from $3.76 to $4.25 per barrel, lie-
cording to qunltty and brand.
Mlllstuffs Market Is very firm for
nil kinds of mill offal, nnd millers mo
having no trouble to dispose of nil
thuy can make, but nre having n

npr 1 ing stocks for lnrge orders to be

crop Is very nattering and nil reports
Indicate a larger one than Ins! yeui.

Stocks are decidedly small.
