The Order of the Women' Relief Corps Will Be at Once Organized In Pendleton Good Prospect Exists That the Next State Encampment Will Meet in Thl City. The state encampment o. the Grana Army of the Republic will meet In annual meeting the lattor part of this week at Portland for the considera tion of the business of the order and the promotion of the fraternal feel ing that Is n part of the spirit of the organization. B. F. Renn, J. S. Gurdano and O. W. Rlgby, the latter commander of the Pendleton post, will attend the convention as delegates from this place, and will attempt to secure for this city the next encampment. The old veterans from all over the state gather together to attend tno conven tions and it would be a fine chance for them to see the great possibilities of this part of the state, and in fact a large number of the members of tho order have expressed a desire to come here In preference to the valley, where the meetings aro generally held. Will Organize a Relief Corps. I-ast year the convention could have been secured for Pendleton haa the local commandery had n Women's Relief Corps here, and this year that objection will be done away with. Through the efforts of G. W. Rlgby, the commander of the Pendleton post, the ladles are to organize. A meet ing was to be held this afternoon, at which time the ladles would elect their officers and get the organization on a working basis. The charter ar rived this morning, and tho arrange ments have been made to have the organization start out well equipped for the work that it has to do. Twenty-live ladles have signed the call for the meetmg and will become char ter members. Through the efforts of the delega tion from here the post Is confident of being able to bring back with them the convention for 1904. Resolutions of Condolence.
