In the largo hall of the Masonic Tem
ple this morning at tho formal open
ing of the annual meeting nf the
Michigan Stato Medical Society. The
features of tho opening session In
cluded the annual address of the pres
ident, A, E. Btilson, of Jackson, who
took as his Hiibject "Reorganization
of tho Medical Profession of Michi
gan, With Suggestions for tho Fut
ure," and an oration on surgery de
livered by F. W. Bobbins, of Detroit.
This afternoon tho convention di
vided into sectional meetings for the
discussion of topics connqctod with
special branches of the medical pro
fession. A long list of liaporH and
addresses has been prepared and it
will be Saturday before a final ad
journment of the convention Is
reached.
