Reported Blalock Fruit Company Will
Take Over Thomas Lyon Ranch at
Cost of $100,000.
What will easily rank first as tho
largest land deal over consummated
lu the county, will be tho sale ot tho
Thomas Lyons place west of Walla
Walla, now pending, to the Blalock
Fruit Company. It Is understood that
the deal Is practically closed and that
Finch and Campbell, owners or tno
Blalock ranch, will bo In Walla Walla
tomorrow to sign up the papers and
take over the property.
The Lyons ranch lies Just west of
the city, adjoins the Blalock com
pany's big farm nnd consists of a full
section of the finest fruit and garden
land In the county, though at present
It Is being farmed to wheat. Real
estate men sav the land Is worth
easily $150 an acre.
Tho Intention of the Blalock people
It Is said Is to throw tho two tracts
together and make It tho largest mill
vldual fruit and alfalfa farm In the
Northwest. Mill creek and numerous
small streams traverse the new buy.
