It was brought about yesfcr- mj y wio matching of "Slats" Tai lor anu Mr. "Wlggs" McGucken on the oin Da, me Gentlemen nfnresnM nrm-. ed so evenly matched that with per fect support a winning tnllr have been almost out of the 'question. Taylor pitched the 14 innings with out a uase on uaus a remarkable rec ord. He hit one man. but had no wild pitches. McGucken was verv effective at critical points, had good control when It was necessary and altogether pucueu a splendid game. Home runs bv McGucken aiui nrnit. ley were a feature of the came. Sev. eral two-base hits and one three-bag ser were sandwiched in. and the crowd got Its fill of hard hittlnrr that is If a crowd ever can net tired of seeing the ball pounded. Nagio was the first and last man to score yesterday. In the first he got a life on Fishers error, stole second. goi mini on Wilkin's Infield hit and came In on an error by Dean, who in cidentally made three errors out of five chances. The Pendleton aggre gation was considerate enough to spare sending anything more his way. Wilklns scored on a throw to second. The Indians drew three blanks until the eighth Inning, when Gass singled and Dunn got a two-bagger and Tay lor virtually won his own game by scoring both with a neat single. Na glo made the winning run in the 14th as described above. Wialla Walla did not score until the fifth, when Fisher's single, errors by Tnylor and Wilklns and a homer by McGucken brought in two. In the seventh Bradley's homer added the third and the fourth came In the eighth when Hogan, Fisher and Bu diet singled In succession. Walla Walla now has a fine outfield.
