The adjustment of losses from fire and water at the Hotel Pendleton has been completed and the adjust ers today returned home. They were D. B. Frothinghom, of Spokane, and F. J. Manning, of San Francisco. The following is the agreed upon losses: painting, papering and kalso minlng, $l,400fn roofing, $400; electric wiring, ?lfi0; plastering, $850. Total, $2800. From Yellowstone Park. George Breck, representing pleas ure resorts in the vicinity of Yellowstone Park, is in the city. From here he will go to Walla Walla, but will return in a few days. Mr. Breck anticipates a heavy travel to the Yellowstone Park this coming season, which confirms the predic tions made some time ago by the offi cials of the W. & C. R. Ry. Hinkle for the plaintiff to fore close a mortgage for $1,200 on a tract of land near Freewater. The plain tiff is L. A. Lawson and the defend ants Charles Perkins and wife, and the Canada Settlers' Loan and Trust Company, limited. The latter are codefendants holding a second mort gage on the land. Booth Tucker Coming West. Booth Tucker, whp is at the bead of the Salvation Army in America, will make a tour through the extreme West during the coming April and May. He is scheduled to bo at Walla Waila and the members of the local post have hopes of securing his pres ence in the city for at least long enough to deliver one address. Ho is a son of General William Booth. Good Hide Business. L. Shanks is in the North Yakima country and is not expected home be fore April 10. The winter was ex tremely hard on stock in the Cas cades and there is almost no limit to the hide and pelt business in the sur rounding districts. To Quit Hide Business. H. C. Mills will in a few days retire from his association with L. Shanks in the bide and junk business. Mr. Mills will buy more wheat land and engage more extensively than ever in farming, though he will retain his residence in Pendleton. Union Gospel Meeting. The union meeting for prayer and Bible study and testimony, will be held in the Congregational church at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow, Friday. These meetings are especially helpful to Christian workers. Albert Barnhart, aged 14 years and 5 months, died last night at 11 o'clock at the family home on Lewis street, of appendicitis, after a very painful illness of only a week. The boy was born at Barnhart station, six miles west of Pendleton, and is the young est son of Jeremiah Barnhart aud wife.
