J. B. Warman has returnod from the head of McKay Creek, where 10 inches of snow fell a few days ago Inside of 24 hours. The snow is going fast now, and grass is beginning to grow lustily. However, the hillfi aro overstocked and the grass has no chance to do more than sprout, hefore it is eaten off clear to the ground. Mr. Warman states that the grass was badly injured last fall by being over-pastured. It was in many places fairly pulled out by the roots by the hungry cattle and sheep,' with the re sult that it does not project a growth this spring that would amount to very much even if let alone for the entire season. Scientific Irrigation. County Surveyor Kimbrell declares that the people most of them at least know nothing about scientific irrigation, and that enough water is used on the average irrigated tract in the average season to sufficiently irrigate twice the area. He antici pates great benefit to the entire area of country which irrigates, from the government's experimental works, provided they are ever established.
