Mr. Wilcox came to Pendleton several weeks ago to visit with John Brown and Charles Bales, and was taken down with severe attack of the measles, although he is over 70 years of age. Smith Livestock Company, that there is considerable scab among the sheep now, with a tendency to spread. Mr. Smith disclaims being an alarmist, but hopes that the inspector will rise to the occasion if he has not yet done so. Wheeler, who lives three miles west of the city, has In 700 acres of wheat this season that is all fine that Is up, 300 acres. Four hundred acres was not sown until January and while there is no reason to suppose it is not fine, it Is too small to show up much. Mr. Wheeler will cut 300 acres of his wheat for hay. Entire Family Down. All of the Mustard family, living nine miles southwest of tho city, near George Canyon, have had the small pox. All are said to be now conva lescing nicely.
