drunk and disorderly, is booked to
appear In the" police court this after
noon at 5 o'clock.
The quarantine has been lifted
from the home of Fred Stickler, on
Clay street. . It was imposed on ac
count of scarlet fever.
WJlliam Parker, of Athena, has sold
his hardware business and residence
property also and will move soon1 up
on a farm near Colfax.
E. DeHaven, who lived for 38 years
at Milton, has sold his farm there
and bought a farm near Yoakum, up-(
on which he now resides.
.Eureka Lodge No. 32, I. O. O. F.,
has changed its timo of meeting from
Saturday night until Tuesday night
Us next time for meeting is Tuesday,
February 10.
The social Saturday evening last of
Eureka Lodge No. 31, L O. O. F., was
greatly enjoyed by those present. The
published program was carried out
without deviation.

J, E, McDowell, the brakeman killed
Friday at Meacham, was a brothor-ln-law
of Engineer Bruce, who was kill
ed In the wreck of the Sunsot Limited
at Needles, California, last Wednes
day, Charles Chancey, of Missouri Gulch,
J2 miles southwest of the city, reports
that winter wheat looks Very well,
but on account of the dry fall its
growth has been during the winter
and it is small,.

Gallatin, Mo., says in its issue of Jan.
30: "The little son of W. W. Harrat,
who arrived here from Pendleton,
Ore., died Sunday, Jan. 25, of scarlet
fever. The child was 2 years old
and was sick when the family arrived
here. The funeral was held Monday
at Pilot Grove Baptist church and the
interment took place in Pilot Grove
cemetery, the oldest in the county."
W. W. Harrah and family left Pen
dleton two weeks ago to pay a visit
to the old home In Missouri and this
sad misfortune will be learned with
regret by their many friends in this
city.
They are expected home next week.

W. F. Murray came down from the
Greenhorn district yesterday and will
remain until next May. He got out of
the Greenhorn country just in time to
get out at all probably, as the snow
there was 15 feet deep when he left
Mr. Murray is the sole owner of tbo

Eagle, mining claims which are now
yielding $50 per ton. He Is confident
he has a good thing in both properties.
Revival Meetings Continue.
The revival meetings now in prog
ress at the Baptist church are being
well attended with the most satisfac
tory results. Last night flvo new
memlbers were baptized and several
others are awaiting baptism. Con
versions are being made constantly
and the meetings will be held each
evening until further announced,

The measles are still epidemic
around Missouri Gulch.. The Powers
and Hughes families and tho fumily
