No such child shall be employed In any work or for wages or other compensation to whomso ever payable during the hours when the public schools of tho town, district or city In which he or she resides arc In .session. Section 3. Attendance at school shall bo compulsory upon a child un der 14 years during the whole or tho school term In the" city or town in which the child resides. Attendance at school shall bo compulsory upon child under 15 years of age who Is not employed In any lawful work. Section 4. No child under 1C years of ago shall be employed, at any work before tho hour of C in the morning or after tho hour of 7 at night, nor employed for longer thnn 10 hours for any one day, nor more than six days In any week. And every child under 1C years of nee shall bo enti tled to no less than 30 minutes for meal time noon, but such meal tlmo shall not be Included as part of tho work hours of the day; and every em ployer shall post In a conspicuous place where such minors are em ployed printed notice stating 'the max imum work hours required in one week and every day of the week Horn such minors. Section 6. No person shall employ any minor under 1C years of age, and no parent, guardian or custodian shall permit to be employed any such minor under his control who cannot read at sight and write legibly simple sen tences In the English language while a school Is maintained in the town or city In which such minor resides. Section C. It shall be the duty of every person or corporation employ ing a child under the age of 16 years to keep a teglster in which shall be recorded the name, age, date of birth, place of resldenco of every child under mo age of 16 years employed. And it shall be unlawful for any person or corporation to employ any child un der tho age of 16 years unless there Is first provided and placed on file in the factory, store, work shop or mine in which such child is employed an affidavit made by the parent, -stating the name, date of birth and nlaco of the school attended by such child. LThe register and affidavits herein pro vided tor, shall, on demand, be pro duced and shown for inspection to whomsoever tho enforcement of the labor law of this state may be delegat ed. The person or persons to whom tho enforcement or the labor laws of this state may be delegated shall have the l.ower to demand certificate of Dhvsl- cal fitness from some regularly li censed physician In the case of child under 16 who may seem practically unauie to perronn the labor at which such child may be employed, and no chljd under 16 shall bo employed who cannot obtain such certificate. Section 7. Any .person or corpora tion who shall employ a minor con tiary to the provisions of this act or who shall violate any of the provls ions thereof, shall npon conviction bo fined in a sum not less than $10 nor more than $25 for the first offense: not less than $25 nor more than $50 tor the second offense, and bo Im prisoned for not less than 10 nor moro than 30 days for -the third and each succeeding offense. Section 8. Any person or guardian who permits a child to be employed in violation of the nrovislons of this act shall upon conviction be fined not ltss than $5 nor more than $25. NEW COUNTY FARM.
