From the amount of snow, the jig gle of the slGigh'iell, the loud peal of the lnds and lassies as they hitched their sleds on behind any vehicle that chanced to pass, anyone on last Wed' nesday and Thursday would have sup posed that old winter had come to stay, but lo, and behold; what was everone's surprise, when Friday morning when daylight came, the snow had all gone and the rnud was from two to six Indies deep. In an hour or so the sun 'came out and shone until nearly noon, with such bright ness that several farmers came to town with their ploughshares to be sharpened, preparatory to spring Plowing. From this It would seem that there Is no limit to speed possibilities, nor is there any limit to the possibilities of Hostetter's Stom ach Bitters for curing stomach, liver and kidney complaints. Its record of cures during the past 50 years proves this without a doubt, and also estab lishes its superiority over all other remedies. When the system has be come Teak and run dow neither from sickness or neglect, you will find a few doses of the Bitters very benefi cial. It will give you now llfo and energy, restore the appetite, purify the blood and cure flatulency, head ache, indigestion and dvpepsia. Try it IS ARTHUR RHODES ACCIDENT ALLY DISCHARGES A GUN. Arthur C. Rhodes, son of A. Rhodes, of McKay creek, is in the Sisters' hos pital with a bullet hole In his Side. The wound was received accidentally and is not necessaiily fatal. Friday afternoon he was In the barn and had a 38-calibre revolver with him. Ho laid the revolver on a beam of the manger anil reached over the revolver to pick up something from the other side, in doing this the revolver was knocked from its perch and fell to the floor of the manger. The hammer struck first and the gun was discharged. The ball struck the young man in the pft side, Just below the heart, it jassed through the fe--.li, out was not deep enough to t-uch a vital spot. One rib was touched which turned the bullet from its course toward the outer skin and saved the young man from a more serious wound. Had the ball entered Just a little higher and nearer the center or the body he would now be a corpse, but as it is, Tie only received a painful flesh wound and is able to tell how It hap pened. The discharge of the revolver at traded the attention of other mem ters of the family, who went to tho barn to Investigate. They found the young man lying on the floor of the barn and blood running from his side, This frightened them, but upon exam- inntlon it was found that the wound was not very deep. The young man was then placed into a hack and brought to town. He was taken to the Sisters' hospital and Dr. Smith dressed tha wound pronouncing it not necessarily dangerous.
